SHIZUOKA GYMRATS今期ABA参入！ 9/16/2010
（カリフォルニア州サンフランシスコ）
アメリカンバスケットボールアソシエーション（ABA）は本日、2010-2011年のシーズンにトラベリングチーム（*自軍ホームコートでの試合がないチーム）として静岡ジムラッツ（Shizuoka Gymrats）の加入を発表した。Gymratsはテキサス、ルイジアナ、ミシシッピ、ネバダ各州を転戦し、北カリフォルニア・南カリフォルニア両方のディビジョンにおいてランクを競うこととなる。
ABAのCEOジョー・ニューマン氏は「このお知らせをすることができて大変に喜ばしい」と述べた。
「Gymratsがやる全ゲームは昨今のABAにおいてどれもが特別なイベントになり得るし、ABAというリーグの国際性をより一層高めてくれるはずだ。楽しみだ。」
Gymratsはサンフランシスコ・ランブル（San Francisco Rumble）のオーナー兼CEOのデモン・ヘイル氏により運営される。「我々は Gymratsが今期プレイすることにも非常に期待を寄せているし、（ABA CEOの）ジョーが言うようにABAの国際競争力を高めることにもなる」と付け加えた。
今夏と昨年夏、 Gymratsはサンフランシスコに行き、６人の日本人選手で数試合をこなした。サンフランシスコ・ランブルは数人のアメリカ人プレイヤーでこのロースターを補強。ランブルのビッグマンであるクリス・アダム（フォワード／センター、211cm、フレズノ州立大）が、Gymratsに強固なインサイドゲームをもたらした。
今夏のサンフランシスコ・ランブルとのオーバータイムでの惜敗を含め、彼らの２年間の戦績は３勝３敗。「若者たちは試合でよい経験をしたし、日本人選手たちはしばしばパスやハンドリング力の高さで興奮をもたらした」とヘイルは言う。
静岡Gymratsは設立者であり、自身も６年目のABAプレイヤーである岡田卓也（ガード、180cm、日体大）に率いられている。岡田氏は日本の静岡という都市で育った。彼の元にはABAと日本双方の経験をもつ幾人かのプレイヤーの参加が見込まれている。GymratsのフロントオフィスはGMのタキザワヨシテル氏が務める。

SHIZUOKA GYMRATS TO PLAY IN ABA THIS SEASON 9/16/2010
San Francisco, CA. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced the addition of the Shizuoka Gymrats traveling team for the 2010-2011 season. The Gymrats will travel to Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Nevada to challenge the best ABA teams and in addition will compete in both the Northern Californida and Southern California Divisions. "We are very pleased to be able to make this announcement," stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. "It will make every game the Gymrats play a very special event for the current ABA teams and strengthens our development of ABA Global and a truly international presence. We're excited."
The Gymrats Traveling Team is operated by the San Francisco Rumble owner and CEO, Damone Hale, Esq. "We are also excited about the Shizuoka Gymrats playing this coming season. As Joe said, it adds to the league's ABA Global initiative," added Hale.
This summer and last, the Gymrats traveled to San Francisco with 6 Japanese players and competed in several exhibition games. The SF Rumble added several American players to the Japanese roster to fill out their team. SF Rumble's big man, Chris Adams (F/C 6'11, Fresno) provided the Gymrats with a formidable inside game. With an overtime loss this summer to the SF Rumble, the Gymrats ended their 2-year record at 3-3. "The young people had a great time at the game and the Japanese players provided some excitement with their amazing ball passing and handling skills," said Hale.
The Shizuoka Gymrats are led by Founder and 6th year ABA player, Takuya Okada (G, 5'11, Nittai U). Mr. Okada grew up in the city of Shizuoka, Japan. He will be joined by several Japanese players with both ABA and Japanese experience. The Gymrats front office will be headed by Yoshiteru Takizawa, GM.
